Well the holidays are upon us and this is a big sea-son for everyone. Well some of you may not have a lot of ac-cessories on your floors yet, I think it is still important to show a salute to the holidays in the store. The worst thing you can do is throw up some silver garland, some big red plastic bows and some Santa and reindeer figurines. holidaystyle2

Don’t forget whether you know it or not you are in the fash-ion industry; the furniture fashion industry! If you want to attract people to your store and have them purchase anything from you they have to feel confident that you know more than them or at least as much as they do about what they need. When they walk into your store they’re not only looking for furniture they’re looking for ideas. They may not even be in the market that first time they walk in but that is the time that they will decide if they will be back when they are in the market.

You have to dazzle them and what more magical time of the year is the there to dazzle anyone than Christmas. So make some tasteful decisions on a great Christmas tree with classy holiday décor based on what’s in style this year. Throw away or donate those old tacky decorations you’ve been putting up for years and show your customer why they want to buy their next piece of furniture from you. Have some fun decorating the store it will make you and your staff feel more in the fes-tive mood. Happy holidays and happy selling!

So here’s a sample of what I would say a safe but classy Christmas décor would consist of. Stay away from a tradi-tional red, green theme – no Santa’s or no snowman hanging from trees. Try a colour called champagne, it’s a neutral col-our kind of a silver gold mix. Add in some poinsettias in that tone, some glittery branches, some cream and maybe green hanging ornaments, stars, bells and maybe some pinecones, bird nests – they’re really popular this year – as well as owls. Try to keep it subtle and beautiful. These pieces that you pur-chase can be used for years to come and just add in the colour that’s an accessory style of the season. May it be teal or pur-ple the champagne will still match. Give it a try and give me a call if you have any questions for help. Take care and happy holidays!
